With the movie The Last Airbender coming, I think I should give a short summary of what the movie is about.

The story of Aang, a 12-year-old Airbender of the Air Nomads Southern Air Temple started when he learned from the elder monks that he was the Avatar and that soon the world would need him to restore balance and order. Confused and frightened by these recent events and his responsibilities, Aang fled from his home with his flying bison Appa. While traveling over the southern ocean water, a sudden storm caused Appa and Aang to plunge into the sea. while drowning, Aang unconsciously entered the Avatar State and use bending skills to encase himself and Appa in an ice bubble that trapped them for centuries.

A hundred years have passed, two siblings from the Southern Water Tribe Katara and Sokka discovered and free Aang and Appa from the iceberg. Aang soon realizes that he’s been gone for over a century and during his absence, a century-long war has been waged. The same year Aang vanished, the Fire Nation launched a war on other nations, taking advantage of both the absence of the Avatar and the firebending-enhancing powers of the passing comet. To Aang’s shock and disbelief, the Fire Nations’s first assault was on the Air Nomads, slaughtering every airbenders to break the Avatar cycle leaving Aang as the last airbender.

Now Aang must master all 4 elements of bending and defeat Fire Lord Ozai to restore peace and harmony to the four nations before the return of the passing comet that will give the firebenders power to win the war, a power not even the Avatar could stop.
